AMAZING FACTS ABOUT CRICKET WORLD CUP :

1. The first Cricket
World Cup was held in England in 1975.

2. Before 1975, a separate Women's Cricket World Cup was played in 1973.

3. In 1975 the first Cricket World Cup was played in England as a series of One-Day matches of 60 overs per team i.e; instead of 50 overs, each team played 60 overs.

4. Cricket World Cup was played outside England, in India and Pakistan, for the first time in 1987.

5. After the year 1987, there were only 50 overs for each team in a match, before that there were 60 overs per team.

6. Australia is the only team in a Cricket World Cup, which has won three consecutive World Cup tournaments.

7. Clive Lloyd and Ricky Pointing are the only captains who have won the World Cup two times. Lloyd won the World Cup in the years 1975 and 1979. Ricky Pointing won the World Cup in the Years 2003 and 2007.

8. Shahid Afridi of Pakistan has a unique record of taking four or more than four wickets in a match in four World Cups.

9. Roy Fredricks  of West Indies is the first player to be out by hit-wicket in ODI history. In the final World Cup of the year 1975, Roy Fredricks, an opener of West Indies lost his balance and hit the leg stump with his left leg.

10. In 1988, Pakistan's World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan returned to  international cricket after announcing his retirement the previous year i.e; in 1987. He returned because of the request of the Pakistani President, General Zia-Ul-Haq so that he will represent the country again. His inspirational captaincy gave Pakistan their first World Cup.

11. The ICC knockout tournament was inaugurated in 1998, It was changed to the Champions Trophy in 2002.

12. In 1894, there was a match between Victoria and Australia, the Batsman hit the ball and ball stuck in a tree, the Batsman kept running and scored 286 runs on that ball.

13. In the 2019 World Cup, Pakistan was the only team that beat both finalists.(NEW ZELAND and ENGLANG)
